Port: The port of Cagliari is an important landing point for liner ships (Rome-Civitavecchia, Naples, and Palermo) and cruise ships sailing in the Mediterranean. The ports of Olbia, Golfo Aranci, and Porto Torres, about two and a half hours drive from Cagliari, are connected with the ports of Genoa, Livorno, Piombino, Civitavecchia, Barcelona, Toulon, and Nice.

Train: The city is connected by train to Sassari-Porto Torres and Olbia, and by bus to Alghero-Fertilia and Olbia-Costa Smeralda airports. The port and the central station are located in the city centre, less than a 15-minute walk from the conference venue.
