Maria Concetta Chiuri era un’insegnante devota e una studiosa appassionata e preziosa. I suoi interessi di ricerca hanno riguardato una varietà di argomenti relativi di economia pubblica con importanti implicazioni di policy, come il processo decisionale delle famiglie, le imperfezioni del mercato immobiliare, l’immigrazione illegale. La sua produzione scientifica è stata molto apprezzata dalla comunità accademica internazionale. Nel 2007, ha ricevuto l’Aldi Hagenaars Memorial Award dal Luxembourg Income Study per l’articolo “Do the Elderly Reduce Housing Equity? An International Comparison “, scritto in collaborazione con Tullio Jappelli, come il miglior LIS Working Paper scritto da un economista di età inferiore ai quarant’anni. Il premio ammonta a € 2.500. È destinato a un articolo inedito di qualità elevata e particolarmente meritevole, scritto da un autore di età inferiore ai quarant’anni. Nel caso di un elaborato scritto congiuntamente, tutti gli autori devono rispettare il requisito di età alla scadenza del termine per la presentazione. Ogni autore può presentare un solo articolo. I coautori di un articolo candidato non possono presentare altri articoli. Non possono partecipare coloro che sono stati premiati nelle edizioni precedenti. Gli articoli presentati, sia teorici sia empirici, devono appartenere a uno dei campi di ricerca a cui Maria Concetta Chiuri era maggiormente interessata, ossia:
Il comitato scientifico incaricato del processo di selezione è così composto: a. il presidente SIEP; b. il presidente dell’Associazione italiana economisti del lavoro (AIEL); c. il presidente (o in alternativa, il direttore) del Centro Economia Famiglia, Reddito, Lavoro e Demografia (CHILD – Collegio Carlo Alberto); d. il direttore del Centro di studi in economia e finanza (CSEF) o un delegato; e. un membro nominato dal “Comitato premio Etta Chiuri”. Il premio verrà assegnato durante il XXXVI Convegno Annuale SIEP, che si terrà presso l’Università degli Napoli Federico II, il 18 e 19 settembre 2025, e il(i) vincitore(i) avrà (avranno) la possibilità di presentare il suo (loro) paper alla Conferenza (si vedano informazioni sulla conferenza alla pagina http://www.siepweb.it/siep/wp/it/xxxvii-conferenza-siep-2025). Gli autori interessati sono invitati a inviare i loro lavori all’indirizzo di posta elettronica ettachiuri@siepweb.it entro il 13 aprile 2025.
